From Mail, Photos, Files, anywhere
Share it
to Stashbird.
Tap Share on a PDF, a scan or a photo of a letter and pick Stashbird. Or bring files in from the Files app.
No naming, no sorting
It picks
the folder.
Stashbird reads each new PDF, scan or photo of a letter on your iPhone, works out a proper name for it, with its date when the page shows one, and picks which of your folders it belongs in. When none of them fits, it tells you, and it can make a new folder for it once you let it.
A new file waits in your Inbox with the name and the folder Stashbird has in mind. One tap files it, and it is your call every time.
“When does my passport run out?”
It shows you
the line.
Ask in plain words. Stashbird answers from your own pages and shows you the line the answer came from, so you can check it yourself.
When an answer is read from one of your pages, every number in it has to be printed on that page. When an answer does not pass its checks, Stashbird says it is not sure and shows you where your words appear.
And the rest of it
Made to keep
paper safe.
Folders that learn.
Put one file in a folder yourself, and the next one like it is offered the same place. The more a folder holds, the surer Stashbird gets.
Search what the page says.
The words on the first 40 pages of a PDF, and in a scan or a photo of a letter, are read on your iPhone, so a search finds what is written there, not only what the file is called. A file added from another device is read once it is on your iPhone.
Nothing lost by accident.
Removing a file moves it to Removed. Stashbird keeps it there for at least 90 days before deleting it for good, unless you choose Delete for good yourself, and that always asks first. Recover brings it back.
Never overwritten.
Two files with the same name are both kept. If a file was changed on two devices at once, every version is kept.
Photos keep their day.
A photo is dated by the day it was taken, read from the photo itself or from a date in its file name. Only a photo with neither shows the date on the file itself.
No folders behind your back.
Stashbird suggests folders you already have. It only makes new ones if you switch that on in Settings.
Where it all lives
Your files,
your iCloud.
Every document is a plain file in iCloud Drive, in a folder called Stashbird. Open it in the Files app, or in Finder on a Mac. There is no Stashbird server, and we never see your documents.

Stashbird for iPhone
Coming
soon.
Stashbird is being finished. It is not on the App Store yet.
Naming, filing and answers work best with Apple Intelligence, which runs on the iPhone itself. On an iPhone without it, Stashbird still names and files common paperwork using simpler rules, reads and searches your documents, and shows you where your words appear instead of writing an answer.
